A tragic family incident involving popular social media figure Emilie Kiser has taken a significant turn. Her husband, Brady Kiser, is now facing a recommendation for a child abuse charge in connection with the heartbreaking drowning death of their 3-year-old son, Trigg.
On Tuesday, July 15, the Chandler Police Department (CPD) announced via X (formerly Twitter) that their investigation into Trigg’s passing on Sunday, May 18, is complete.
What We Know So Far:
- The Recommendation: CPD investigators have formally recommended that Brady Kiser be tried for a Class 4 felony charge of child abuse.
- Next Steps: The case file has been submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review. Prosecutors will now decide whether to proceed with charges against Brady Kiser, or if the case will be dropped.
- The Incident: Trigg tragically drowned in the family’s backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona, on Monday, May 12.
- Brady Kiser’s Account: According to CPD search warrant applications, Brady Kiser was at home with Trigg and their newborn son, Theodore, while Emilie Kiser was out. He told police he saw Trigg playing near the pool – which usually had a protective cover – but lost sight of him for three to five minutes while caring for the infant. He then discovered Trigg in the pool.
- Police Response: Emergency services performed CPR, and Trigg was rushed to Chandler Regional Medical Center, then to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
- Investigation: Days after the drowning, Brady Kiser was accused by CPD investigators of committing child abuse on the day of Trigg’s death, and surveillance footage from backyard cameras was sought to corroborate his statements.
This is a developing story, and the legal process is now in the hands of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
