Ry Walker, the co-founder and former CEO of Astronomer, is speaking out about the “ColdplayGate” controversy surrounding the company’s current CEO, Andy Byron. Following a viral video from a recent concert, Walker clarified on X that he is no longer involved with the company.
“For those asking – I’m no longer involved in [Astronomer]- yes I was co-founder and early CEO – not on the team or board since 2022, and have no information on ColdplayGate,” Walker wrote. He also added his candid thoughts on the band: “I have 704 liked songs in Spotify – none are Coldplay, but I do think Chris Martin is an amazing vocalist.”
This comes after a video of a man, identified by unverified reports as Byron, and a woman, identified as Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, went viral after they were caught in a seemingly intimate moment on camera at a Coldplay concert. The incident has led to widespread speculation and online commentary, while Byron, Cabot, and Astronomer have remained largely silent.
